Summer Food Program KICKS-OFF
The East Tennessee Human Resource Agency will host a State-Wide Kick-Off event for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
The event will take place on June 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seymour Boys & Girls Club 122 Boyds Creek Hwy Seymour, TN.
Officials from the USDA Rural Development, Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters, state senators and representatives from throughout the region served by ETHRA will be attending the event along with the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency board members and staff.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals that meet the federal nutrition guidelines are provided to all children at approved SFSP sites.
The SFSP operates during the months of May to August and is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service, administrated by the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
