About the Presentation:
Part I of the session will discuss key estate planning strategies and the related legal       documents that every individual should have in place, including the various kinds of    powers of attorney and advance directives, along with an overview of their purpose, legal effect, limitations, and potential pitfalls. Part II of the session will cover ongoing state and private efforts to combat   elder abuse, including the Tennessee General Assembly's recent enactment of a law that grants elder abuse victims an individual right of civil recovery against their abusers.


About the Speaker:
Jessica Moe is a state-licensed attorney who currently manages the East Tennessee Legal Assistance for the Elderly Program at East Tennessee  Human Resource Agency. Jessica also serves as a legal advisor to the  agency and its many different service programs.  Jessica is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, and has served in her current role with the agency for just over a year.
