Senior Employment Services (SCSEP - Title V)

 

East Tennessee Human Resources is seeking low-income senior citizens to participate in the Senior Community Service Employment Program in all of the above counties. Qualifying seniors are eligible for up to 20 hours per week paid job instruction at 7.25 per hour.

 

If you are interested in serving your community, making money, and refreshing your job skills we would love to speak to you!

 

Qualifying Applicants must be:

A Legal resident of the State of Tennessee in one of the counties listed above

  • 55 years of age or older
  • Actively seeking employment
  • Meet the income guidelines set by the Department of Labor
  • Currently Unemployed

 

Individuals who meet these criteria and would like to be a SCSEP participant must provide:

  • Proof of household income for the last 6 months ( for example, Social Security benefit letter, or pension statement)
  • Current Driver’s License or state issued ID
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of Family Size (form will be given at time of enrollment)
  • Voided Check to set up direct deposit of paychecks
  • If you are a veteran or qualified spouse of a veteran, we need your DD214.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program is a fantastic opportunity for seniors who may have been out of the workplace for various reasons to get back in. We are prepared to help you meet your employment goals, while you make money and learn new skills at some of the most wonderful, service minded non-profits in the area.

SCSEP is funded by the Department of Labor, administered by Senior Service America, and locally sponsored by the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is an employment training program for low-income, unemployed individuals aged 55 years and older. The program provides subsidized, part-time work experience for a limited time through community service.
